Job Summary:

Spliethoff Spain covers all Iberian Peninsula demands and offers clients connections to the rest of the world with a biweekly service to Central and South America, the USA, Canada and other destinations such as Africa, the Far East and the Indian subcontinent. Spliethoff Spain consists of two offices (Barcelona/Bilbao) and operates with a small team.

As Sales manager, your main focus is establishing and expanding trade. We are looking for a candidate with proven sales experience in the shipping industry with knowledge of breakbulk and/or project cargo. You will foster a positive working environment and ensure customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.


  • Direct all commercial aspects including customer service, administration and sales

  • Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities

  • Visiting current and potential customers

  • Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans

  • Meet goals and metrics


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven talent with sales experience

  • Leadership and human resource management skills

  • Has minimum 5 years’ experience in front line sales functions

  • Working experience in a Maritime environment, preferably in BBK cargo/project cargo

  • Results driven and customer focused

  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Team player and high-energy

  • Native Spanish speaker

  • Knowledge of the English language, verbally and written.
