December 9 2016

Spliethoff receives environmental ISO 14001 certificate from Lloyd’s Register.

The ISO 14001 Environment Management System (EMS) standard is an internationally recognised environmental management standard which was first published in 1996. It is a systematic framework to manage the immediate and long term environmental impacts of an organisation's products, services and processes.

Spliethoff has been granted the Certificate of Approval to certify the Environmental Management Systems of Spliethoff fleet of dry cargo vessels by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.

Spliethoff has undertaken initiatives, as part of our Environmental Management System (EMS) to reduce fuel consumption, emissions to to the air (sulpher, nitrogen, CO-2) and the water, in order to minimize our environmental footprint.
“Therefore, Spliethoff sees this ISO 14001 certificate as a reward for its determination to reach the highest standards in its services,” says Marco van Rijsinge, director Quality & Environmental Management of Spliethoff, “And with no doubt the EMS has top priority for us in light of environmental matters.”
